Anna Polistuk is a Toronto based painter, illustrator, and film artist. Her work explores transformation and the impact of experiences of expanded consciousness.
Inspired from her own dream and visionary states she creates surreal alternate worlds. Supernatural scenes of plants, animals and anthropomorphized land, where hard lines dissolve into waves of molecules and lattices, and become melting landscapes of strange organic shapes and vibrant electric technicolour. Her paintings tell stories of the liminal spaces between our consciousness and whatever is all the rest. Her work is feminist and futurist, a fusion of science and art, that speaks in a language of archetypes, iconography and folk imagery.
Anna has studied Psychology and Anthropology at University of Western Ontario, Film Production at Toronto Metropolitan University, and Set and Costume design at the National Theatre School of Canada. She has trainings and certifications in breathwork, hypnosis, somatics, nature based ritual practice, energy medicine, and is currently immersed in the revitalization of psychedelic and consciousness science.
